I’m hoping that somebody in the glow community will be able to help me. A while back, I had an HSG test done, and the results showed blocked tubes. However, the pain during the test was nearly unbearable and I was literally screaming on the table. After the test, my doc concluded that my tubes were blocked and that the only way I would be able to get pregnant was with <a href="https://glowing.com/glow-fertility-program">IVF</a>.

Fast forward three years. . . After five rounds of <a href="https://glowing.com/glow-fertility-program">IVF</a> I had another HSG done at a different fertility clinic after deciding to do donor eggs (the HSG was part of their protocol for qualifying for their donor egg program). I was under sedation for this test (which I requested bc of the pain of the previous one) and to my surprise, my test showed completely open tubes! The doctor concluded that I must’ve had a tubal spasm during that first test, which caused incorrect results of blocked tubes (and, subsequently, five rounds of <a href="https://glowing.com/glow-fertility-program">IVF</a>). The month after the test that was under sedation, I got pregnant. It was my first and only pregnancy at age 40. Unfortunately I miscarried at 7 weeks.

It is been a year since, and I have been unable to get pregnant again. I am now under the care of a regular OB/GYN, but she does not perform HSGs under sedation. I cannot go back to my other fertility clinic (shady Grove) that gave me the sedated HSG because they will only perform the sedated HSGs if you are undergoing diagnostic testing for donor eggs or <a href="https://glowing.com/glow-fertility-program">IVF</a> (I was doing diagnostic testing for a donor egg cycle when I got the original sedated HSG test). I am trying to find a doctor who will perform an HSG test under sedation. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I am in the Maryland area. My current OBGYN says she has never heard of the tests being performed under sedation. Thank you!!!
