When can a baby start eating cheese?

My child is 9 months old and I want to know if I can give her cheese and what type of cheese? 🤔

My pediatrician said anytime after 6 months is fine. Yogurt and cheese were some of my daughters favorites when we started solids! 
You can give any kind of cheese you have. We started with shredded cheese that my daughter could feed herself.

My doctor said basically everything is OK except for honey and shellfish before 1. 
Is there some reason you want her to have cheese? Like she eats what you guys eat and you guys eat cheese? It’s really not good for you, so if you can, I would wait. Based on what my doctor said, she would be fine having some.

Shredded cheese is what I’ve heard my 8 month is lactose intolerant so can’t have it

Absolutely. It’s good to introduce all potential allergens asap (dairy - in the case of cheese).  You can give it to her as soon as you think she is ready for the texture (like if all she’s ever had was purees, you might want something else first before you go jumping to cheese).  
It doesn’t matter what kind of cheese.

My pediatrician said no dairy till 12 months old. I had tried yogurt, shredded mozzarella and shredded cheddar and grilled cheese sandwiches and my LO was having bad gas around 8 to 9 months. I laid off till around 12 months and now she is fine. Their digestive systems aren’t ready for dairy yet.

We started cheese somewhere around 8 months. Has always been one of my son’s favorites. He eats all kinds of cheese, little weirdo was eating slices of Swiss at my mom’s not too long ago. His favorite is probably the cheddar/Colby jack mix.

Sure. I would put cheese on my daughters eggs at that age. I give cheddar usually. But she likes mozzarella and ricotta as well.
