How long did it take you to get over a break up?

I just broke up with my boyfriend. We were together a year and I’m feeling awful. When will these feelings stop :( how long were you with an ex and how long did it take to get over them?

it depends on you as a person it can take a day up to a year but if you'd like to hurry the heartbreak up do things to make you happy just really try and distract your self

A few.weeks, i was better off aand just decided to try new things and move kn and realized it was better apart.

Probably like 2-3 weeks 😂 I was with him for 5 years. My first love and also my first husband. He was cheater and also physically abused me. Once I left, I was happier. It’s been three months and I feel amazing. I let work keep me busy by going to 20 hours to nearly 40 a week. I went out with friends. I spent time with my sister. I kept my mind occupied with movies and shows. It helped a lot! Also taking care of yourself like pushing yourself to shower, eat, etc. even if you want to stay in bed all day. 
I can’t even remember what his voice or laugh sounded like. I realized how ugly looking he was and that I could do so much better. I did. But damn, I’m so happy.

i'm in the same boat. it's been more than a month now and I still feel like shit. we were together nearly 2 years. hang in there. it gets better, at some point.

I was with my ex for 2 years and as soon as we broke up, I was devastated. I came to realize over the course of a month though exactly how wrong for each other we really were and how bad a marriage to that person would have been, and suddenly, I was like hey! It would’ve never worked out anyway and I saved myself from a life time of misery! And I started to feel really at peace that it was the right thing. I think as soon as you come to the point of realizing the relationship was wrong and there is better for you, you’ll be able to move on!
