Should I send the dog to the animal shelter or should I put up found signs?

We already have two dogs. She was running in the street. My boyfriend said just let her go but I don’t want her to get hit. Animal control will be here in 4 hours but I can call and cancel. Should I??

*note my animal shelter only gives dogs 5 days before they get put on the list for euthanasia but she’s also a German Shepard and they are popular dogs so the lady said she might go quickly
