should under 16s be able to sign up as a armed forces cadet?

cadets range from 13/18yo, raf cadets have a range of activities including using military guns, flying planes, gliding, camping, etc. they're treated like soldiers from day 1. parents often don't know where the kids are while camping, they have to handover their phones on arrival and get them back when their parents collect them, this can be up to 3 weeks. they're expected to be available at all times, they could get a call to say they have 1hr to pack a bag and go away for 3 days, they can miss 10 school days per term for cadet training which they have to make up for in their own time, they're told to have an hours drill practice a day at home and are expected to maintain high school grades. with so much pressure on s child that young should it be 16+ before you can join? there is currently a safeguarding issue where kids are getting hurt by other cadets (bullying) but the victims are the ones in trouble and the bullies are being promoted so they have more say over their peers. would you allow your child to join? (p.s. there is a reason for this question but it'd be too long to explain)
