Doesn’t listen??

Does anyone else’s toddler just flat out not listen? Like when commanded NO just disregards totally? I’m having so much trouble with getting my son to listen, especially when it counts, like when something is hot, or we are walking and he wants to run into the street. When do they start listening? He doesn’t care!! So frustrating.

I usually tell her what to do instead of what not to do and it has helped. She doesn’t listen to no very well yet...an example of how I handle it...
She’s getting into a cabinet she shouldn’t be in, so I say “please close the cabinet” and she will do it and walk away 7/10 times... as for the things like going to the stove or running to the street I give a very firm NO and immediately remove her from the situation...it’s not a perfect solution, but it’s better than her ignoring me and me just yelling no all day.

Yep! They are learning where your boundaries are. And they LOVE to practice pushing them! Stay strong momma! Giving them positive commands for what TO do helps too. But stay consistent :). Parenting is hard! 💪

Omg yes. I’m going crazy. He will hit/bite and when I tell him no or smack his hand he laughs and runs away! And he started throwing tantrums when he doesn’t get what he wants. I’m 20 weeks pregnant and I’m exhausted lol

The only thing that stops my son is the threat of Time out... I started giving time out and it’s my only leverage against him 😂

Yuppp. My sons been biting me!! And won’t listen at all when I tell him to stop. He just laughs and does it again!

When I say no and act mad at my daughter for doing something she's not supposed to do, she just laughs at me. Like she thinks it's funny when I get upset. 😂

Same. My daughter knows what she’s doing is wrong and won’t stop. Like she climbs ontop of the dining table at least 15 times a day, and no matter how many times i say no and take her away, she will continue to do it. I have no idea what to do

If I ask my son to give me the thing he's not supposed to have he will run away with it in a kung-fu grip.... So yeah I'm there too
