When do you brush your teeth ???

Question

My partner and I are going through a disagreement. I send my kids to brush their teeth after  they had finish breakfast. He says they should brush before they eat . 
What do you guys think ???

I brush my teeth after breakfast. Food doesn't taste the same after brushing...

I brush as part of my morning routine so my child does too. I don't even go downstairs and mingle with other humans until I've brushed my teeth.

It makes no sense to me to wake up and brush when you brushed before bed. Then eating and leaving the house without brushing. If we drink Oj or coffee we always drink some water before brushing to rinse away any acid left. My dentist said to do this but it isn't a big deal if you don't since most toothpaste contains baking soda or base ingredients that will neutralize acidity as you brush therefore not affecting the enamel as much

I’ve looked this up in the past.  If you have certain foods such as citrus and then brush your teeth within 30 mins of eating, you could be damaging your enamel. Other than that, I don’t think there’s any other science around when you’re supposed to brush your teeth. Maybe 30 mins after eating? That way you can brush any food particles away and not have to worry about damaging the enamel.

You brush first thing, then eat, then floss and rinse with mouthwash. Mouthwash solves all brushing disagreements. Just brush first and use mouthwash as a refresher!

Definitely before I eat.
1. I can’t stand the taste or feel of dirty teeth while I eat or talk
2. I have a terrible gag reflex and with throw every bit of my food up if I eat first. It’s happened every single time 😖

I definitely brush after breakfast. Why brush when you’re going to eat and then get food stuck in your clean teeth. And also food and drinks taste gross after brushing teeth.

I always do beforehand because I heard that the food particles can scratch your enamel. But that’s only for a bout 10-15 minutes after eating. Doesn’t seem to matter either way lol.
