IUI success stories?? Here's my story...

Danielle

Here's my story. My husband and I, both 28, have been together for 9 years and married for a year and a half, TTC for a year and a half also.

We both absolutely love kids so we were so excited to start trying to conceive. After 8 months of TTC with no positive results I went to see my obgyn to get some answers. She did some tests including blood work, ultrasound, and an hcg test. My husband had a sperm analysis.

All of our tests came back 100% normal. My obgyn gave me the option of trying chlomid for a few months or sending me to an infertility specialist. We chose to start with the chlomid, I was sure it would work. Month one went by, negative. Month 2, a very devastating negative (we both really felt like I was pregnant this time). Month 3, another negative.😩

At this point I went back and had an exam and she referred me to an infertility specialist. I walked out of the dr office that day crying and completely devastated. How could this be happening to us!? What did we ever do to deserve this!! At this point in time, only my mom knew about what we were going through. We felt ashamed to tell other family members and friends. I think we just didn't want to believe it.

Fast forward to December 2017. Our initial consult with the infertility specialist. He explained all of our options and the success rates. Over the next couple months, we both had more testing done. The beginning of February I was out on femera and got s negative hpt with that.

The beginning of march the dr advised I try the injections with trigger shot (because I only had one follicle with the oral meds he thought I was a good candidate for the injections).

The whole month of march I was literally at the infertility specialist office every other day being monitored with blood work and ultrasounds. I didn't mind at all, it was actually peace of mind seeing how big my follicles were. My husband had to inject my stomach every single night for about 10 nights with Follistim. This did not hurt at all.

This month really brought my husband and I closer than ever before, we were a support system for each other.💕 we both opened up to many friends and family members and it really does feel good to have a bigger support system. so finally after many appts., my 2 follicles were just about big enough for my IUI. I had one 18 mm and one 15 mm, which keep growing until they release the egg.

I triggered on march 23rd and they did the IUIs 2 days back to back, 3/24 and 3/25.

I went in on Easter Sunday morning to get blood work so they can check my progesterone levels and luckily they are in normal range. Now we wait!! Just 3 more days til I can test!! I go back into the office on Sunday April 8th for blood work again, that's when they will confirm pregnancy, hopefully.

I know this is a long story but when I was going through this I just wanted to relate to someone and I couldn't so I hope I can help someone, emotionally, that is going through this. It is not an easy journey but there is a light at the end of the tunnel and there are more people out there than you think going through this. Even if this doesn't work for us this time, we will keep trying and not give up.

Also, if you have a IUI success story, I'd love to hear it!! Good luck to everyone still trying!❤️❤️❤️
