Aerial Arts

About a year ago I was searching the internet and became intrigued to learn about Cirque Du Soleil. I saw all of these apparatuses that people so beautifully performed from and I had an idea. I researched all I could about these things that I saw. I found that there was a studio in my city where I could do these things! I was so ecstatic! I signed up for my first class and fell absolutely in love with everything about aerial silks. As of this month, I have been doing aerial for a year. It has become a way for me to feel better about myself and it also makes me physically feel better too! My muscles are more toned, my upper body strength went from being able to do no pull ups to being able to to 3, and I love sharing it with my friends. I’m the only one in my friend group who does this so it’s always a good conversation starter!

If you ever want to do a class like this, go for it! Even if you think you could never do it, you definitely can. I have no other form of fitness that I use besides aerial and it offers a great workout for someone of any size or athletic ability.

Sign up for a class at a local studio. If you can’t commit to a 4-8 week class course, sign up for a drop-in. Those are classes that are one time and they cost $15-$25 at most studios. So search “aerial arts (your city)” to find a studio near you! Do your research and have fun with your first flight!
