When to switch to convertible car seat

Question

Has anyone switched their infant car seat to a convertible one yet? 
If not, when do you plan on switching? 
I feel like we will still use ours for a little while longer, but I don’t know when it’s appropriate or makes sense to switch them out.

I’m going to end up switching my son when he can sit up in a stroller since I use his stroller everyday for walks and the car seat just connects to it

I hurt my back falling down the steps in the ice when baby was 3 months old I could carry the infant seat so we switched hr to convertible seat. 
She hates. The car much less now

We are waiting until she can sit upright unassisted. We bought the diono radian rxt and it takes up a lot of room unless you use the angle adjuster and you cant use the angle adjuster until they can sit up unassisted. I like the convenience of our infant seat though but lately she hasn't been wanting to sit in it. also I think she will outgrow us sooner than later she is on the tall side

My niece was in her infant carrier until she was 2 years! We are planning to move my son to his convertible car seat as soon as he outgrows the carrier, which is at 30in. He is already 27in, so I would say he is probably there around 6 month!

Her main one has always been the convertible one and use the infant one if needed in the second car and for the stroller. We have the urbini one and she doesn’t like the bassinet part of it too much yet so it works out for us

I think I'm going to switch my baby girl to her other car seat when she can sit up without assistance. it's just easier for me to carry her in her infant car seat right now. she will be 4 months Friday and she's sitting up but I have to help her sometimes or she'll tip over if she's moving a lot

My 4 month old is still on tiny side, so i think we'll probably be using her infant carrier for a lot longer. We switched our son when he exceeded the infant car seat limit im height. He was around 9 months
