Should I get a second opinion?

Question

Unexplained infertility. We have been ttc 3 years. HSG, ovarian reserve, hormones, semen analysis. Everything is normal. Tried clomid and timed intercourses. Two <a href="https://glowing.com/glow-fertility-program">IUI</a>’s with femera, no luck. My current doctor suggested a few more <a href="https://glowing.com/glow-fertility-program">IUI</a>’s but i decided against It and to just save for <a href="https://glowing.com/glow-fertility-program">IVF</a>. Should i go to another doctor so they can review all of my tests and maybe find something the other doctor missed?

I did have a polyp removed (hysteroscopy) May 2017

We also conceived without even trying June 2011.

Sometimes you can’t explain not getting pregnant. I’ve had so many tests and surgeries. The only thing found was scar tissue in my uterus which I had removed. I’ve also lost 4 babies. You can go get a second opinion, but honestly more times than not people just do not know.

Similar story, except we didn’t even make it to our second IUI due to small growing follicles...we asked for 2 other opinions and they both suggested going straight to IVF because I don’t have much time to lose (I’m turning 38 this month). So I’m just waiting for my period to come and start

I just went to a fertility doctor yesterday. They recommend 6 you'd before looking into ivf.. IVF babies are at higher risk for congenital abnormalities and are considered a higher risk pregnancy. But having your records reviewed would never hurt

I'd definitely get a second opinion.  If you're young and healthy otherwise, there may be a good reason to keep trying IUI but the success rates are much higher with IVF and it also allows for genetic testing and possibly for multiple pregnancies from 1 cycle (if you have embryos left to freeze) so there are benefits that help offset the additional cost.   
Either way, I'd suggest reading a couple of things before you move forward:  1. the book 'It Starts with the Egg' and 2. the blog 'agates guide to learning from your failed ivf cycle'.   The first will give you a lot of background on supplements that could be helpful regardless of what treatment you try next and the second has a lot of info on more in depth testing options (see level 2 testing) that can help identify underlying causes for unexplained infertility.
