Pacifier or No pacifier???

I don’t know how we even got on the subject but when I said something about a pacifier my fiancé without hesitation said NO. I guess he doesn’t want to go thru the weening process later on.. what do you guys think?

Things change once the baby is here. A lot of things you said you'd never do, you end up doing and things you thought you would do, you completely forget about. I wouldn't even sweat it and save the argument until you see how baby is first.

Honestly the weaning process was a breeze for us and pacifiers are supposed to reduce the risk of sids. I also EBF without a problem caused by them. Some people just get freaked out over the dental aspect and taking it away as they get older.

I said the same thing and you know what my baby uses a pacifier and it comforts her and helps her sleep. We’ll get her off of it when she’s ready

Ask him this if the baby was screaming nonstop he still wouldn’t give the baby a Paci? I didn’t want to use one either but after being induced all night and giving birth and a baby not sleeping that went out the window the first night 🤷🏼‍♀️

If it helps it helps. They've been known to decrease the chance of SIDS. The main reason I will opt for using one is because my cousins all soothed themselves with thumb sucking. Looks adorable when they're babies, but nothing could break them. They're in 4th grade, and I think they still do it at home. It pushed their teeth out, and their thumbs smelled and looked rotted. 🤢 It's so much easier to put up with some distress while breaking a pacifier. Some babies even wean themselves after as soon as a few months old.

Pacifier!!! I was hesitant at first with our DS but he loved it. Don’t stress about wearing- we threw out all the binkies when he was two and he only used them for bedtime after one anyway so it wasn’t a big deal :)

I tried to get my daughter to take them. Occasionally she would but most the time she’d just spit them out so I quit trying. But now she won’t fall asleep without a blanket.
