FINALLY MY TURN! Little birth story

Karrina • Titan’s Mommy 💚

I had my baby! March 30, 2018 at 8:40 AM Titan Azrael came into the world at 7 pounds 3 ounces and 21 inches long. I was one day short of 39 weeks. Thursday night around 10 pm I started to feel pains. I didn’t want to get my hopes up because I had so many false labor scares and was stuck at 3 cm since 35 weeks, got a membrane sweet that Monday, nothing was happening. I just handled them and relaxed on the couch. Then they started to get more intense.. still in doubt I went and took a hot shower remembering my mom saying if it’s real labor the hot shower will make it progress even more. Once I got out they got way more intense. I tried to time them but the pain was getting bad quick. I woke my mom up around 1 and called my midwife she said to do as much at home as I could handle and come in when I couldn’t do it anymore. So I’m thinking I’ll just sleep. 30 minutes later I’m crying and on my way to the hospital. At 2:30 I got admitted because when I got there they checked and said I was 6 cm, almost completely thinned out, and my water bag was bulging. They told me they’d check me every 3 hours. They ended up checking every 2. I went from 6 to 8 cm within 2 hours. At almost 9 cm my water broke on its own. 2 hours after the 8 cm check I was 10 cm and pushing. No pain relief. It was horrible to be honest but I surprised myself and my family with how well I focused on my breath and took the pain. (I’m a crybaby but not during labor!!) and then.. I blacked out from pain I’m guessing and came back quick but I open my eyes and my mom and sister are being pushed away from me and a bunch of nurses run in yelling st me to push while one is on the bed pushing down on my stomach. The pain was horrible but I was so scared I didn’t know what was happening. I just pushed and pushed as hard as I could and my sweet boy came out. He came face down and didn’t turn how he was supposed to (I had horrible horrible back labor they said this is why) and the cord was wrapped around his neck. After the head is delivered the oxygen is cut off which is why they pull the body out quickly but they couldn’t pull him out. Turns out his shoulders were stuck in my pelvic bone which is why everything happened at the end the way it did. I was having him pulled while I pushed and someone pushed on my pelvis. I guess it happens one in every 250 deliveries and is considered and emergency so now I have to tell my doctor if I ever have another baby but my boy was just fine after! Screaming until they laid him on my chest. I tore up not down and have some stitches in some spots that hurt really bad to walk. He’s now 5 days old and is so perfect. He’s getting his color now since he’s half black half Mexican he’s already darker than mommy lol he loves kisses and cuddles and hates to be changed. He loves to open his eyes and look around. He’s like my heaven on earth. After 3 miscarriages I got my perfect rainbow baby and I’ve never been more happy. I love him more than life itself
