My May 2018 baby decided to come in April at 36 weeks due date was May 1 2018. On April 2nd I got to work and jokingly stated if I could go on maternity leave now I would. Literally 3 hours later I went to use the bathroom wash my hands and then felt a gush of fluids. I ran out of work called my nurse who confirmed my water may have broke and to hurry into labor and delivery . Once I arrive the doctor examined me and confirmed my water broke and they would start pitocin to start labor that night. 😳😳😳 I wasn’t ready. By 8:30pm the pitocin started and contractions started and I was like oh these are contractions these are nothing. The doctor came to check how far i dilated but I could not handle the exam. By the time the pitocin reached 18 I felt the pain but wanted to attempt my plan of an unmedicated delivery. Well let’s say that went different. I took a nap for an hour called the nurse because i felt nauseous and felt like I would vomit. I reached level 26 and the pain was unbearable. I screamed for the EPIDURAL. Once I received the epidural around 5:40 the doctor checked to see how far I dilated I was 7 cm. The epidural began to work but my babys heart rate started decreasing. The doctors check how far I dilated at 6 am and I was 9 1/2 cm. Minutes later I was ready to push. And by 6:22 on April 3 2018 I gave birth to my handsome little boy. He was rushed to the NICU for breathing complications but doing much better now. All the pain was definitely worth it. 😍😍😍
