Guys help me I keep having dreams about my ex

So my ex cheated on me.

He was meant to come over mine but his car broke and while ‘finding a lift’ to come over he found a lift to go out with his friends. He kissed a girl. Apparently it meant nothing and it just happened. He told me the next day and I was crushed. He ended it because he didn’t want to hurt me anymore.

Few months later we are talking again and I kinda forgive him well I thought I did. We’re together for less than a month and I have to break it up because I’m abit scared he’s going to do it again. Mainly because I thought he was a genuine guy and never expected that from him at all so I lost abit of trust. I’d have dreams while I’m sleeping in the same bed about him cheating like more than once a night sometimes. So I broke it off and he was sweet about it and understood. We went on our way and I moved on.

Flash forward I was with another guy (who turned out to be the biggest dickhead). I accidentally called him my ex’s name but I don’t think he heard. But anyways. I’d still have dreams about my ex. Like nice ones 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m so confused about this all. I really wish I could get over the cheating but I’m scared if I go back to him again I’ll have the dreams but I really miss him. How do I cope 😩

Now I’m here and he messages me casually asking about my day and stuff all really friendly. I wish my brain would let me be happy with him. We had a lot of fun.
