Question about babies interaction

I was wondering when you started noticing your baby actually paying attention to you and interacting with you... my son is almost 6 weeks and he looks at me sometimes like during feedings or changing but otherwise it's hard to get him to focus on faces and all these apps and websites say he is suppose to be looking at faces and all this other stuff.. also one other question when you made sounds on one side of their heads when did they start looking towards it. It's making me worry.
