I was on bed rest due to high blood pressure and it got so bad that they had me on hospital bed rest until I was 37 weeks. I didn’t get to make it that far though as even in the hospital my blood pressure was too high. They told me I was severe pre eclamptic and that they would need to induce me immediately. So on Easter they got me on pitocin and magnesium (to help keep me from having seizures) which I found is just as awful being on as everyone says. If there is any way around having to be on magnesium take it! It made me have the worst headache, lost all appetite, felt like I had the flu without a cough, I swelled up so bad and just felt like death. Anyway... after a long day contractions and an epidural I had my beautiful baby girl. She was only 35 weeks. 4 lbs 2.5 ozs. She is so small I didn’t tear or anything (which is making recovery a breeze in that sense). She only had to spend 24 hrs in the Nicu but is a passing all her tests with flying colors. Now I am just trying to get her weight up. She seems so fragile.
