Traveling while pregnant?

So basically my whole family is planning a trip to Disney in July, I'll be 38 weeks by then. I'm kinda iffy about it since it's a 12 hour drive and I'm nervous about going into labor while we're on our way there or back since my last two labors were 4 hours. Can we even travel so late in pregnancy?

Hell no. My doc said no further than 2-3 hours after 36 weeks. Not only because you can go into labor but because you shouldn’t be in the car that long or on a plane at that point.

I would ask your doctor before you pay. We were planning on going to Punta Cana for my husbands work i would have been around 30 weeks and my doctor told me no. Personally I feel like you would be miserable walking around Disney at 38 weeks pregnant that’s just me though.

I’m a FTM here, so I don’t know much about the tail end of pregnancy firsthand, but if it were me, I probably wouldn’t risk it that late in the game. On top of that, a 12 hour car ride each way doesn’t sound like much fun that far along ☺️ I recommend asking your doctor/midwife for their opinion.

I can’t go more than an hour from where I live after 35 weeks.

That’s cutting it very very close...I’ve never heard a doc that advises it, as you are technically full term and could go into labor at any moment. I would suggest pushing the trip back, or canceling. Definitely talk with your doc, and if you decide to go, track out all the hospitals on your route to make sure you know where you can go if you go into labor. On a side note, Florida in July is absolutely miserable...

I wouldn’t risk it. That’s way too late into your pregnancy and you could really pop at any point. I would personally skip this trip. I love Disney BUT I’d just make a separate trip after the baby is born.
