I went to have my mirena removed today so we could start TTC and I’m so disappointed that they couldn’t get it out! I went in very nervous but the doctor assured me it would be quick and painless. Then he said the strings were too short and he’d have to use a scope. He said it should be quick, but they’ll have to put me under anesthesia (AND that’s what he said the first time).

Has anyone else experienced this?

I know my experience might end up differently, but it would be comforting to hear that others had it removed safely/ quickly using a scope and were able to conceive pretty quickly! I was really hoping to conceive within the next 1-2 cycles. I never lost my period and I haven’t had any issues in the past, so I was hoping for a smooth process 😕
