New to tampons?

I'm only 12 and I'm abit scared about tampons has anyone got advice please share t would be most kind?!

I remember when I first started using them! make sure you're not trying to insert one standing straight up. You have to almost squat while you're doing it. It's one of those things where you just have to try it to get the hang of it. Maybe try using one for just a little bit and then take it out. Also, you shouldn't be able to feel it. If it feels uncomfortable TAKE IT OUT. And change often! Good luck xX

i recommend tampax pearl they are smooth going in... it took me ages to find the right ones for myself.... also what would help is also sitting on the toilet and putting one in or one leg on the bath tub they are what positions i found easier to do it... its all trial and error 😁

They do teen ranges of tampons which are smaller and more suited to someone your age which is a good idea to try when it’s your first time using them but don’t worry there’s nothing to be scared about. Just try a few different types and find the one you find most comfortable, at first it can be daunting with so many different types of applicators, absorbance etc but it’s just about finding what best for you. Maybe talk to a mum, auntie or someone else you trust and ask them to show you and help you find the right ones.

I agree with the comments above. I am in my 30s and still don’t always get on with them. Trial and error and regular changes!! Keep a pad on you, just in case!

I was scared of tampons at first too lol the whole idea of putting something “up there” freaked me out a little bit, so I ended up waiting until I was older to use them which is when I realized I was worried for no reason... it takes some practice to get them in right but once you got it it’s super easy and it’s nicer than pads because you don’t feel like you’re wearing a diaper and can go swimming... if you’d like to try them I’d suggest waiting until you’re on your period and then try to put one in following the instructions that are on the box, or a video online, it will definitely take a few tries so don’t get discouraged!
