Ok so should I do an updo for prom?

This is my idea for my hair. Does it seem too messy? I hate the way I look when my hair is tight/slicked back but I’m not sure if this’ll look bad with my dress.

Ok so I was originally going to wear my hair down but I didn’t think my hair was thick enough. I felt like it wouldn’t look good so I got used to the idea of wearing it up. I agree with all of you 100%, it would look way better with my hair down. So thanks for all of your input. Here is my new plan for my hair
