Two embryos?

Will my first transfer be up to us ? I want to transfer 2, will it be our choice or the doctors?

It's a medical procedure and so your doctor will recommend whatever is in the best interest of you achieving a healthy pregnancy.   That typically depends on your age, your health and reaction to stimulation meds (hormone levels and lining), and the number and quality of embryos.  The more likely you are to get pregnant based on all those factors, generally the less likely the RE is to be willing to transfer more than one due to the risks associated with multiples.

Our clinic does only single embryo transfers unless the women are in their 40s and the embryos are not looking good.

Everything on IVF is a chance..... For example my re recommended to transfer 1 as I was under 35, great health, really good quality embryos.., etc... According to my numbers everything looked great, I got pregnant but unfortunately it stop developing and resulted in a chemical... This time around we are transferring two. Praying at least one sticks and I’ve heard two has more higher success where the fear of multiples comes in which also brings high risks!!! Bottom line go with your doctor recommendations and ask all the questions to make sure you are on the same page and as confident. In an ideal world everything would go as planned but sometimes better plans are made for us. Someone here posted they only had one single embryo to transfer and that super embryo splitted in two and she’s having twins from a single embryo! How amazing and unexpected is that!!! It’s your choice. I always wanted to implant 1, but we asked doctor recommendation she said 2. Because my embryos only grade BB and BC. 
I think doctor’s recommendation would base on the quality of your embryos and your age. Good luck!

Before I even started treatment, my doctor recommended transferring 2, so that’s what we did. We only had 4 eggs retrieved, 3 fertilized, 2 embryos transferred. 1 didn’t make it to freeze, so I’m glad I transferred the 2 I did

I’m having 2 embryos transferred (called 1+1) because I’m 41 years old. It’s most likely that only 1 will make it.
