Needing advice

Kelsey

2 days after my baby girl was born she went to the NICU to have major bowel surgery. She will be getting another surgery 8-12 weeks out to get everything repaired but I only get 10 weeks of maternity leave. It’s almost worth staying home with her instead of taking her to a daycare/babysitter. She will also have an ileostomy pouch until her second surgery which I’m afraid of not being well taken care of as they are not “common” things. Would I be awful if I didn’t return to work? My husband wants me to keep my job for the insurance but he has just about the same insurance as mine. We also have 3 other kids that will be with us the entire summer who I could watch as well instead of driving them to a different location for babysitter as we cannot afford 4 kids in daycare around my area. My husband could afford us being off as long as I bring some sort of income in so I’m just wondering if being off for the health of my baby would be worth losing the job over? There’s other jobs for when she’s out of the hospital and no longer sick, right? Ugh the struggle.
