pink and brown spotting day period was suppose to start

I was supposed to have started my period yesterday I woke up to what I thought was the start of it when I wiped there was some pinkish blood just one time so I put a panty liner on and throughout the rest of yesterday and so far today all I'm having is brownish discharge when I wipe. no cramping or anything what could this be. I normally have the brownish blood at end of period not beginning could this be a pregnancy sign has anyone had this happen
