Waiting for my first appointment!

So I called my ob gyn and they said they would see me at just short of 8 weeks. My first appointment is exactly three weeks away. Is anyone else waiting for their first appointment? I’m so excited. This is my first pregnancy. I don’t know if I should tell my mom or anyone yet. I was going to wait until after the first appt!
