help!

I have a few questions since I just started my period and it would be really great if anyone could help me out ☺️ so my flow is medium to heavy and I keep putting on a pad I change it every 6 to 8 hours but it always seems to get into my underwear somehow. It’s soooo annoying I’ve already ruined 3 pairs! Please help me out !
