It’s an insult, but some folks wanna reclaim the term to make it positive, which is fine if they wanna do that personally, bit I dislike the term and I’d rather not have it applied to me.

Whenever it comes to an offensive term like “slut” or racial slurs, my philosophy is that it only has as much power as you give it. If you just take it with a grain of salt and don’t let it bother you, then people will eventually stop using it as an insult and use it as a mark of pride. In reality, there is nothing morally wrong with being a slut. While it may be irresponsible, but most people do irresponsible things. If someone is using the word “slut” to describe you in a negative way and you feel upset, just remember that either :
A) They have slept around just as much as you, and they are a hypocrite
B) They’ve slept around less than you and are angry/jealous that you get laid more then them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

For me it depends on the situation. If a random person is calling me a slut, then I would find it rude. But if a sexual partner were to call me that, I’d find it hot.
