That's how I started the conversation with my children over breakfast this morning. I could see that they were staring at me curiously, it wasn't that noticeable but it was purple and puffy. Last night my SO was putting away some of the stuff from our move and he found these ridiculous throw pillows from one of his old bedroom sets, you know, the ones that are small and decorative and don't do anything aside from annoy anyone trying to get comfortable in a bed??? He was arranging his prized pillows and pulled one out from under his body to reposition. He used such force to get it out that he lost grip of it and his elbow came flying at me and connected with my right eye!!! It was so incredibly painful and I heard the bone crack around my eye socket 😭 He went and got me some ice to put on it and after about 20 minutes he had a look at the damage. It was already purple all around the crease and swelling. His immediate reaction was that I couldn't go anywhere or show the kids my face, I had to find some way to cover it up and rebook my Dr appointment. It was precisely the reaction that I would expect from an abusive husband or something 🤷 Interesting reaction to say the least....Is that a normal reaction for someone who is not abusive? This instant fear of potentially being thought of as an abusive husband??
