Several of these comments, while not WRONG per se, are not entirely correct either. 
Yes, to some extent your vagina (and your entire body for that matter) is an amazing self-cleaning masterpiece of engineering. 
Yes, using most soaps can upset your topical pH balance. Lowering it to the point where you are vulnerable to all sorts of nasties. 
HowEVER, depending on what you eat, where you live, and various other factors, our bodies do tend to need a boost in the cleaning department. This is especially the case when the water supply you’re using isn’t entirely purified...as is the case most places. Water itself can not only have chemicals components that disrupt your bodies hormonal function (very much not something you want around such a sensitive area) it can also contain various components that can mess up your pH balance all on it’s own...no soap required. 
The best option is to find something that is slightly acidic so as to ASSIST your skins pH balance, not just leave it alone-but actually help it be BETTER. Additionally, the acid can help neutralize anything in your water (or you could get a filter/distilled water/etc.), and, despite the mental images of burned and bubbling skin that immediately come to mind when one mentions acid, when used correctly it can be perfectly gentle even on your gentlest areas. 
Try something like what you SHOULD be using for your face, a low pH cleanser (on facial skin high pH cleansers => bacterial growth => acne 🤷🏼‍♀️who knew😬😒😉). 
If you have oodles and gobs of money, the best options in my opinion are the Sulwhasoo cleansers, and the ridiculously expensive but EFFING AMAZING SanDaWha Camellia Wash. that one is specifically made to be a soothing wash for any area ESPECIALLY your “secret zone” 😂 and god does it live up to that. 
For us poor people, low pH cleansers are gaining in popularity thanks to Korean skincare, so they aren’t actually that hard to find anymore. Make sure you look for “gentle”, “sensitive”, or anything that specifically denotes use as a “feminine wash”. 
So, to recap: 
If you have a perfect diet, perfectly clear water, perfect biological functions, then sure, you don’t need to use any cleanser. 
For the rest of us who are (sadly) mere mortals, don’t fear cleansing, just do it smartly. 🙏🏻

I just use the soap that I use for my body.. it’s some type of shea moisture bar soap. i think it’s coconut oil and shea butter and it smells like coconut milk lol.

Just water because soap is unnecessary. Only soap recommendations I've heard from actual doctors, is doves unscented soap for sensitive skin and only to be used on your vulva. I still recommend no soap though.
