How did you get married?

How did you get married  do you regret how you got married? if so why? I’m eloping cheapest option plus I hate my in laws literally all of them .

We had a courthouse wedding with 10 people and then had a big party at my moms and played bunco.

And that’s the dog of honor. It was great because we all got to rotate and talk to with all our family and friends. Very low key but beautiful thanks to my moms decorating!

My family lives all of the world. We did a wedding and all of my moms side of the family came in! All my cousins and aunts / uncles! We actually ended up doing justice of the peace 5 months before for insurance purposes. The wedding was already planned but we could save $2,500 by getting married before our actual wedding ceremony. Only immediate family knew so our wedding day was still special and our “official” wedding anniversary. My dad offered us cash if we didn’t have the wedding. Sometimes I wish we had that chunk of change for savings but I’m glad we had a big family reunion and a beautiful trip to Costa Rica! Everyone wasn’t even able to make it to my grandfathers funeral 6 years ago.. I’m really close to my family so it meant a lot to have everyone there together. We had family come in from Shanghai, North Carolina, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, Colorado, Missouri, and Michigan.

We did a destination wedding which did eliminate some of the unwanted stuff from attending but we still had a pretty big wedding- 50guests at the hotel and a total of 80 wedding guests. It was a blast!

The only reason we eloped was because my husband is in the military. We will be having a mock wedding in a few years but I’m completely happy with our elopement

We eloped because husband is military. 
Maybe one day I’ll have a wedding. But I’m not the type who really wants or needs one. Like I’ve never thought about my wedding ya know? I was more than happy with signing papers and saying vows in front of the justice of the peace.

we just got courthouse married:) we were 19 and 20 and pregnant with our first baby so a big wedding wasn't in the cards for us.

We got married at a venue we loved, surrounded by ~60 friends and family (my family is huge so considering how many we didn’t invite this is small for us ha) and we loved everything about it, however I got like 2 months out and was like why the hell didn’t we just save money and elope and like do a big Europe trip or something instead 😂 so while i totally don’t regret my wedding I can also see the Upside to eloping instead

we went to the court house and got married but it wasn't a secret or anything...our families knew.  We didn't want to waste a bunch of money on a wedding and wanted to instead spend the money on a nice honeymoon  (which we did).   I don't regret it at all, so happy we did it.  The end result is the same and we had a good time.  💕
