hypertension anyone? (16 weeks)

Question

I had a 140/80 at my appointment today and 5 min later they retested and got 120/80 
they are bringing me in next week to check again for 'suspicion of hypertension'
Ive never had a BP issue in my life so of course I did some research (thanks Dr google) and am feeling very scared. 
anyone have any experiences with hypertension they could share? positive stories?

I’ve had high blood pressure since my early 20s. It never seemed to worry doctors until I got pregnant. Mine would be around 140/90, 130/92, etc, sometimes even higher. I’m 17 weeks right now with my first. I was put on medication two weeks ago to regulate my blood pressure while pregnant. I don’t feel any different and the meds have helped my numbers go down. It’s scary to think about medication because I’m not big on taking meds from the start, but the doctors keep a close lookout on hypertension which makes me feel better. I try to walk a few miles everyday to stay a bit active. High BP runs in my family and I work full time as an attorney which probably doesn’t help. The plus side is that you get to see your baby more often because the doctors are constantly checking and regulating. I asked a similar question on a previous post a few weeks ago and many moms had positive stories while being on medication for blood pressure while pregnant. I have learned to just trust the professionals, the medicine and just stay calm. Just stay positive, watch your salt intake and good luck!!

I’m hypertensive, just in pregnancy, and anything around 130 and 140 my consultant is happy with, anything lower isn’t really a concern. They will maybe just monitor you incase it goes higher. I find my first BP is always higher and it will naturally come down, I’ve also had 24 hour monitors on before to check what my BP does throughout the day. Your BP doesn’t sound too concerning, so try not to worry 😊 I also take an aspirin and antihypertensive drugs. I didn’t have any BP issues before pregnancy..but by 12 weeks I was 167/98 🤷🏼‍♀️

Me! I’ve had it with my first son, and now with my twins! It’s been extremely high! I’d pray for numbers like you guys😓 I’m on 2 tablets a day and my numbers normally looks like 216/140. Yesterday, I checked and it was 159/86. I’m only 16 weeks so I’m just gonna continue to stay positive and pray🤷🏽‍♀️ Not to mention, I work full time and always up on my feet. My doctor is hoping I can at least make it to 24 weeks, but praying for 32/35 weeks! Good luck mamas!

Were you nervous? I get this all the time - midwife always has to do it several times and distract me by chatting. Mine is usually 110/70 but rockets to 130/85 or 140/90 at any doctors, always happened even before pregnancy.

I have it with this pregnancy. My doctor has me on meds but is waiting for the diagnosis of pre eclampsia due to other symptoms I have. My first pregnancy I had it too but nothing progressed and my son was a smaller baby but healthy

i have hypertension it started towards the end with my last son and didnt go away but thank god with this pregnancy my numbers have been good these are the things i do  watch what u eat lower ur salt intake for the remainder of this pregnancy and try to walk as much as possible.

mine was 137/ 88 this is my second pregnancy high blood presure toward the end of my first pregnancy. It seems to depend very heavily on my stress lvl..although nurse suggested the round ligament pain may also be to blame.
