I just found out I am pregnant, yesterday!!! Took two home pregnancy tests!

The app says I should be about 4 weeks along, called my OBGYN’s office today to set up my first appointment but they won’t see me till I am 8 weeks ... is this normal?

I have an appointment tomorrow morning with my primary care Dr to confirm pregnancy. Just wanted a little advice, my OBGYN already told me I would be high risk because I had open heart surgery when I was younger and since I am Diabetic ( been off my meds for 6 months!!) I thought they would want to see me sooner but I don’t know 🤷‍♀️
