My SO is a recovering alcoholic and I want to be there for him and support him but idk how.

I've never been in that situation and I'm not entirely sure how to deal with it... Is there any members who are recovering or who also have a SO recovering who could give me some advice? I know it's going to be a struggle for him, but I don't want him to go through it alone or for it to put strain on our relationship.
