My boyfriend gave me a promise me as an engagement ring. We have been dating for 6 years now and I am moving in with him this August . Does that mean I am engaged ???

He gave it to me on my birthday by the beach . He got on his knee and gave it to me but saying “ i give you this promise ring as a symbol of my love and that you are my women and should wear at all times”

I so love it 😍 but I am confused. Help...
