Exclusive Pumper Advice

Whether or not you’re exclusively pumping by choice or not I wanna give some advice that I didn’t get and had to search the furthest parts of the internet to figure it out. Excuse how long this is! Pumping is extremely hard! But I was determined to let my little bug drink breast milk. At first I struggled extremely bad with low milk production and a son that refused to latch no matter what I did, I was producing maybe 12-18 ounces on my best days and went to pumping 32-36 oz a day. I tried everything possible and listened to some advice that was far from helping my milk supply. But I found a plan that helped so much with increasing my milk supply! No matter what anyone tells you, keep pumping every 2 hours! As long as you get 8-10 pump sessions in a day it doesn’t matter how you break up your time, my baby is 3 months old now and sleeps basically through the night. So I pump starting at 4 am whenever I get up for work, 6 am, 8 am, 10 am, 12 pm, 2 pm, 4 pm, 6 pm and again at 8 pm. Sometimes those times get jumbled because working, cooking, cleaning- every day life gets in the way! But I make sure that I pump 8 times a day, sometimes your pump might be a problem as well, I was using the medela pump in style advance. Whenever I actually needed a medical grade pump such as the spectra s2. Drink lots of water! Do some skin to skin whenever you get a chance it usually helps relax you and that’s the best part. Make sure you massage your breast whenever you feel you’ve slowed production in a pump session, I usually pump 20-30 minutes making sure to massage my breast to completely empty them. I also began making my own oatmeal cookies which I sweetened as well as added more to them. But the most important thing is a constant pumping routine, you can take Fuengreek, pump every 2 hours and discontinue it whenever you feel you’ve reached your goal on pumping.
