Is it bad I stopped taking my prenatals about 2 months ago?

I'll be completely honest here. People can ridicule me or whatever. Around 20 weeks with my first I stopped taking them. I took my prenatal maybe 3 or 4 times after that. It wasn't on purpose. I just forgot. Constantly. My baby came out perfectly healthy. Even though she was born 3 weeks and 2 days early. Everything was completely developed and she was great. The doctors were surprised that she had 0 problems based on coming early.

If you can't stomach the prenatal,  I would substitute with Flintstone vitamins (they're about the same).  And talk to your doctor about any other supplement such as extra folic acid you should take with them.

as long as you took them through first trimester then that's all that's required. If you eat well then no additional vitamins should be needed

Prenatals are more for your benefit than baby's. Your baby will take all he/she needs from you. My sister almost never took her prenatals with all three of her girls and they're perfectly healthy. I stopped taking mine a few months ago because they were making me sick and my OB prescribed me 1mg of folic acid to take instead.

I didn’t take vitamins with either of my 3 Children and they are healthy. Besides my oldest daughter has an immune problem, due to genetics. Sooo weather I took vitamins or not, it got passed down to her. But besides that, all 3 are healthy. I’m not taking any with my current pregnancy either🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ I’ve had no issues not taking them, before ttc during pregnancy or after pregnancy.

I don't think they are absolutely necessary but,  let me tell you  what I have been going through... I have never taken mine faithfully because they made me sick too.  But this week I have been hurting so bad and super tired and just very weak.  And so I started taking them again and now I'm slowly starting to feel better.  Your baby is going to get everything it needs from you.  The won't go without.  But they are going to take everything that you need too.  So if you start feeling crappy I would definitely start taking them again. Just try to eat good

i've heard of alot of women not taking them because of that. I mean I stopped cus I've hadn't got paid I usually go for the pill form cus i hate thise gummys.

so with my first i was taking 1 a day vitamins didnt realize till after he was born ....it was 2 a day......so dumb and he was perfectly healthy i completely forgot some days

Have you tried the gummies?  I switched in the first trimester, because all the extra iron in regular prenatals made my morning sickness worse.  The gummies don’t have any iron.

I initially started with gummies, but I found the gummies didn’t go well with the nausea. Once I started taking the pills, it was better. And like other people have said, the baby gets what it needs from you. You just won’t have that much left over for you.
