Why do they say..

Question

baby can't sleep with you in bed? Is it just the rolling over on them or them falling off the bed? someone mentioned sids to the ladies in my childbirth class but I didn't know what exactly they were thinking is the culprit. I'm just wondering because sometimes little man and I snuggle in the mornings before the start of the day and I wanna make sure I'm not hurting him

both of mine slept w us off and on with baby #2 sleeping with me more often. we were in transition between our rental house and the one we were renovating. Baby slept w me and hubby was upstairs with our older child so that they weren't alone up there. it worked out beautifully for our family as I exclusively breastfed and it made that super easy (I also didn't have hubby's snoring to keep us up lol). we only had that arrangement for a little while and then upon moving into our new place, baby moved between her bed and ours. it worked well for us, as well as, my best friends but it isn't for everyone or every situation. look at the facts and then see what you're led to do.

They mostly say baby shouldn’t sleep with you in bed for fear of you rolling over and onto them and hurting them or for fear that you’ll suffocate them with the blankets or pillows and you won’t notice until it’s too late. I always bring the little one to bed with me in the morning when my husband leaves I just make sure that the blanket isn’t too high up and that in case I roll he’s at a distance where I won’t hurt him

Mostly fear of suffocation by either the blankets or you rolling onto them. Personally, we bed shared until my son was 7 months old. He just would NOT sleep on his own unless it was in the swing and even then, only for 2 hours at a time. He slept on my chest until he was around 3 months or so, and then he started sleeping on his side up next to me and stayed latched most of the night.

Rolling over, temperature control, suffocation from blanket, mattress being to soft.  I personally did bed share. Do not over dress. A onesie is all that's needed. Only use the blanket half way up your body. Use a binky. I didn't let my daughter sleep directly on the bed. I laid on my back or side with her on my arm as I held her.
