What age can you put bumpers on the crib?

Afraid baby will get legs caught between crib rails. When can I put the bumpers on?

Mesh breathable bumpers only. There is absolutely no reason for any other kind. Seriously. Your baby won't move around until 4 or 5 months. By then it's really just rolling or a scoot. We got a mesh bumper at 7 months. She liked to stuck her legs out the crib, I didn't like it. Also she kept dropping her damn binky out. Now that she can stand and pull herself up, it doesn't matter. She just chucks the damn thing.

I put mesh ones in at 6 months, after the 3rd time in 2 days my daughter got her chubby little thigh stuck between the rails. She was panicking and I was afraid she'd end up breaking it. She's 8 months old now, and once she starts pulling up on things to stand I'll be taking them down. Right now she just pulls them down to peek over them at me

I don’t think they are ever recommended anymore. They are a strangulation hazard and they’ve been known to assist older babies in climbing out of cribs. My son is 15 months and he’s been fine without them.
