High chair necessary??

Question

Hi ladies! I’m expecting my first little one and need some suggestions.
I’m working on my registry, and hubby and I will need to have an early shower (we live far away from “home”).
I’ve added a Bumbo seat as I love the portability and think its super functional. Is a high chair an absolute necessity??
I know it will be a while before it’s used, but if I add items to my Amazon registry, I can get a discount later...so any money saved is great!
What are your thoughts?? Any alternatives or regrets??

from my experience, I would skip the bumbo and just get the high chair. idk how people don't use one, we use it every day from 6 months and on and he's 15 months now :) he only used the bumbo for a short amount of time and didn't like being in it for too long, then his legs got too chubby lol

Yes, feeding baby & letting baby learn to feed himself is such a huge thing, the high chair is totally worth it imo.

I had a bumbo and it was nice when he was first eating things and it took longer and I could feed him where I wanted but I also got one of the highchair that attaches to one of my table chairs and I love it! It can be easily unhooked and you can take it places like the bumbo and it's not heavy at all.

We registered for and got the high chair that sits in the regular kitchen chair and transitions to a booster seat. Save us on space and keep little one included when she's ready for food

My 2 year old still uses her high chair...so you are looking at a year and a half of use, where the bumbo we only used for a few months. I say skip the bumbo. Mine didn't like to sit in hers at all.

I'm about to have my 4th baby. I've used the highchair for all 3, going on 4. Have never owned a bumbo.
I have the Graco Blossom and absolutely love it. You can also get a booster that connects to the dining chair but I preferred the highchair until age 2 then switched to booster.

My nephew had the “clip on the table chair” it’s more compact than a high chair and they will be sitting at a table.

u really don't need a high chair I gotonefor my daughter n she hates being in it she likes sitting at the table with everyone else it makes her feel big so we ended up throwing it away

I've had 4 babies and never used a high chair.  I'm on my 5th but he's still too young for a chair,  so i'm not sure yet if I'll get one.

My baby is small and the bumbo was a tight fit for her starting around 10 months. So, it isn’t a long term use item. I feel like she can’t stay on a regular chair yet. I was worried about the large footprint of our high chair, but we make it work. It gets used for nearly every meal every day.
The other thing note is that the tray on the bumbo is small. So food gets swiped or dropped off it pretty quickly.
