diastasis recti in toddlers

Does anyone have any experience with this with their baby or toddler? My son just turned 2 but he’s had this bulge down his stomach for a while now (I now know what it is by looking up pictures). What I don’t understand is why his pediatrician never told me about it when I brought it up both times bc I was worried bc at the time I had no idea what it was. I even switched offices recently and they even told me it was nothing. Does it go away on its own?
