I am not sure if I have depression or not but I also don't know if it would help me more interest in my boyfriend ( could having a baby make you not want to be with a guy anymore) I'm just trying to save my relationship for I won't loose my daughter.

Medication for depression helps me.  I didn't take my med for 3 days because I had a stomach bug, and I felt increasing lung overwhelmed and weepy.  Once I started taking again, I felt better the next day.  That being said, if your bf is a jerk, meds aren't going to make you not care about that anymore.

if you have genuine depression, the medicine will help. I'm on lexapro and Seraquil for mine. off meds I'm miserable. on them, I'm good. but you should see your doctor and confirm before you can be prescribed anything.

Maybe start with therapy, both individual & couples. It'll give you the tools to live with depression, if that's what you have, it'll help with your relationship, & it'all start you on the path to getting appropriate medication if it's needed. Good luck.

It helps you feel better because it’s a drug.  
Any drug will make you feel better.
They say you “need” it if you have a chemical imbalance..... but they don’t actually do any testing to evaluate your balance of chemicals.
They just assume depressed people must have chemical imbalances without even looking.  Then they do a bunch of “guess work” - to see which drugs might make you feel happiest with the fewest side effects.  At no point do they ever evaluate to see if your chemical balance has normalized.
It’s just “are you happier with the way these drugs make you feel”. 
What the drugs do is artificially block your brain’s ability to resorb neurotransmitters, which makes you feel happy in the moment - but over time causes your body to develop a “tolerance” to feel-good chemicals like serotonin (the usual one).
Over time, you need more and more serotonin to feel normal.  It creates a dependency and screws with your natural serotonin production.
I wouldn’t do it for all these medical reasons.
Here’s where I may differ from everyone else ....... I would just use medical pot.  Don’t smoke it, that’s bad for your lungs.  But ingest.  You’ll feel better just the same, without all the side effects.  It’s just healthier in my opinion.

yes, it does help. you may not notice a difference but others around you will if you truly suffer from depression.  I do, and its important to ask your dr for help if.you think you may be. I suffered from ppd for a long time before I gott help.

That’s something you’ll have to talk over with your doctor. Just beware there is a lot of trial and error when it comes to finding the right medicine. It’s been a 4 1/2 year Journey for me and I’m still having trouble finding what works for me. Half of what I’ve been on has made my depression and anxiety worse, some didn’t help at all and the one that actually worked became to expensive($ 200 a month) after I changed insurance.
