LSD PSYCHOTHERAPY

Lavender

First, a little background on MAPS.

What Is MAPS?

Founded in 1986, the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit research and educational organization that develops medical, legal, and cultural contexts for people to benefit from the careful uses of psychedelics and marijuana.

LSD-Assisted Psychotherapy

In 2014, MAPS completed the first double-blind, placebo-controlled study of the therapeutic use of LSD in human beings since the early 1970s.

MAPS is interested in LSD for its potential to help people with a variety of conditions, focusing primarily on the treatment of anxiety associated with life-threatening illness.

Our Phase 2 pilot study in 12 subjects found positive trends in the reduction of anxiety following two LSD-assisted psychotherapy sessions. The study results also indicate that LSD-assisted psychotherapy can be safely administered in these subjects, and justify further research

Previously, LSD has had 30 years of successful use as a therapeutic substance in conjunction with psychotherapy. But due to many factors, such as the CIA' s use of the drug for mind control studies through the MK-Ultra program, as well as the rapid creating and spread of the 60' s counter culture movement, it was labeled a Schedule 1 substance. Entirely halting the research and therapeutic use that had been going so well.

So, my questions are this:

Do you believe that LSD has any therapeutic use?

Do you believe it has a high potential for abuse?

Do you believe it should be legalized as a therapeutic substance utilized only with trained professionals in licensed facilities, where the set (the intentions of taking the drug) and setting (the surroundings or place the drug will be taken) can be controlled?
