Cramps after period and before ovulation

My period ended 3 days ago and my fertile window starts tomorrow. I’ve been having mild to moderate cramps since yesterday. I’ve read that it could be the body preparing an egg for ovulation. Does anyone else experience this? I also had sex the day after my period but I don’t think it’s related as I wasn’t in pain during
