We often hear the phrase “mother knows best” when women are making decisions regarding their children. While I agree, I also believe mother AND father know best.

For example, we have all seen many cases on social media of women believing they have last say to anything pertaining to their children. Is this fair? Shouldn’t the father have EQUAL say as well since it is half of their child? The phrase “I carried them for 9 months, I decide” in my opinion isn’t excusable. That would be like someone saying “I make more money and contribute more to our family so I decide on finances.”

There are DEFINITELY circumstances where it shouldn’t be equal parenting (drug abuse, verbal/mental/physical abuse, absent parent, etc.), but for the sake of the poll, I’m going to say ignore those circumstances. If each parent is 100% fit to be a parent, do you think their “say” in things pertaining to their child should be even?

While I posted my opinion, I am honestly open to any explanations of why people believe otherwise. 👍🏼
