Glucose test w/o drink?

Has anybody tested for gestational diabetes without the drink? Next week at my 28 week appt my doctor wants me to do the glucose w/o drink due to my weight loss surgery which too much sugar can make me really sick.

I didn't want to do the glucose drink so I'm doing the finger prick & using at an home monitor several times a day for several weeks instead.

I had gastric bypass and won't be doing the drink. I told them it would make me extremely sick. so they're making me fast and checking my hba1c levels.

I don’t understand how they’d be able to see how well your body processes glucose unless you consume something sugary 🤔 lol I’m not a doctor obviously but I’m curious as to how that would work! Haha

You can do finger pricks at home. Fasting, 1 hour post meal, 2 hour post meal for one week. This is a common alternative.
