I saw this bumper sticker on the back of this car yesterday "Childhood is a journey not a race." Do you believe in that? I agree because I think kids today are growing up too fast and it should be the time to explore and just be a kid.

I agree with it. Kids always try to do grown things they aren't ready for like playing house instead of marinating in the most special and short lived time of their life. I'm glad my parents emphasized not growing up too fast, and I am doing the same with my daughter. She can leave the grown folk stress to the grown folks.The only thing she needs to worry about is school and her friends.

I immediately thought of the Facebook parents that say things like “my kid is 56 minutes old and he’s already holding his head up and almost can say the alphabet!”

It's for this reason that early introduction to LGBTI pisses me off, just let the kids figure it out for themselves and the time is right they will bloody let us all know... they always do!!

Yes. In school it’s drilled in your head that the “real world” is competitive so you have to do this and that and be the best at it.

I think there’s a healthy balance, but that depends on circumstances that are likely outside the control of the children.

I agree.. kids are trying to grow up too fast!
Also the fact that parents are always competing like their kids are better than others (ex; my child started walking at 10 months, your child is 11 months and not walking they must be behind) kids learn at different paces.

All i want for my kids is for them to be normal.
I had to grow up before i even learned to wipe my own ass. I just want my kids to enjoy their childhoods. Its not about “kids these days” and what not... its just i *need* to break the cycle and let these kids just be.
