What would you do?

Birthday party for our neice. My husbands family all smokes and they all smoke in the house where the party is. That's how he grew up also. His family is big three sisters and brother in laws, dad, mom, step parents literally they all smoke. I didn't grow up around smoking at all and the smell bothers me plus Im pregnant. My question is would you take your kids and go to the party or would you skip it? They always act like its not a big deal and my kids will be fine being around it for one day but I don't feel that way. They always make me feel guilty. So what would you do?

If they can’t take it outside for a day which is what my family does sense I told them I or my child won’t and can’t be around it then they are butts.

I wouldn’t go, and if anyone asked, I’d say it’s because I won’t subject my children or myself to second hand smoke. You may be fine with it, but I am not and never will be. They’ll give you grief probably, but there’s way too much evidence on what smoking and second hand smoke does to people for me to subject myself or my child to it. Good luck!

personally i wouldn't go. i was not raised around smokers and had breathing problems when i was a kid so it's ingrained in my brain to avoid them.
