What to expect during NT scan

Question

I’ll be having mine on Tuesday I’ll be 13 weeks and 2 days what do they look for? Will they be able to see gender? I’m nervous something might be wrong I’ve been under a lot of stress at work lately

Depending on your hospital but, mine won't tell gender til 20 weeks.
My 13 week just looked and listened to make sure heart was beating (149 was the heart rate) :) They check fluid behind the neck to see risk of Down Syndrome. She checked the head and legs. Make sure everything was growing right and where it should be.

Don’t stress about it, it’s s fun chance to see the baby in action. Quick tip: ask them the amount of fluid. A lot of the time they don’t volunteer the information if you dont ask. I won’t have the results of my blood test for another two weeks but I know the fluid was normal because I asked and it really puts me at ease so I’m not crawling up the wall waiting for my results.

Don't stress! I will say that they took a lot of time looking at the baby during mine because he/she kept moving and made it hard to calculate the fluid behind the neck. The technician did not say much, we had to wait for the doctor, so don't let that worry you either. Mostly relax and just enjoy getting to look at your baby!

they measure the fold on the back of the neck, if thick-it can be a sign for downs syndrome. They also look at the nasal bone for it too? They also tried to find the gender on mine but he/she had their legs crossed. Guess I gotta wait for the blood test results to come back 😊 Don't stress, and you'll feel so much better being able to see baby swim around and hear it's heartbeat 💓

Don’t stress! I’m sure baby will be just fine! My baby was stubborn and wouldn’t allow them to get the correct measurements they needed! She stopped the ultrasound and I had to use the restroom and walk around then came back and she got her measurements! There’s a little sack of fluid they measure! My babes was at 1.5 so I guess that’s good! That’s what they said! All my labs came back ok! They won’t look at the gender but I think you can request to know!
