If the parents of the baby have split up, who should have the most say about the babies name?

Unless the father is abusive, not involved at all, completely abandoned you, etc, then he has equal say.

Doesnt matter it takes 2 to make a baby they both get to decide on a name unless there was abuse

if he is around and is actually going to be present in the child's life then his opinion should matter. I made the mistake of letting my ex choose my sons middle name, he picked a family name. hasn't made contact since he was 2 weeks old (he is 7 1/2) and there is nothing I can do about his middle name that's not only terrible but tied to a family he knows nothing of and probably never will have anything to do with unless I can spend thousands of dollars to try and convince a judge to terminate his parental rights and let me change it
