So my friend, who was raised Catholic, is dating someone non-religious. My friend is trying to learn more about her faith, so she started going to church again and doing different religious activities. The person she’s dating keeps making these comments about her “joining a cult”’and “you better not try to brainwash me”.

I’m not religious at all, but I feel like this is super disrespectful. I’m not going to bash someone’s religion. My friend definitely isn’t in a cult, it’s just a group for young adults in her church, and they do bible studies etc.

My husband was raised Catholic and I’ve told him any time he wants to go to church, he should go. I’d never hold him back just because I’m not religious.

What are your thoughts? Do you think her SO is out of line?
